Game is One Example of Why ABG Capital is Consistently
One of the Best Places to Work in Western Pennsylvania

Pittsburgh, PA, August 4, 2009 – While employees play for personal incentives, the company achieves their business goals… that's the win-win success behind ABG Capital's hands-on game that was developed with rules similar to Monopoly.

ABG Capital, a non-traditional business investor based in Pittsburgh, PA that works with idea people who typically have been turned away by traditional venture capital firms, is also a "non-traditional" employer, which is why it has ranked for the past five years on The Best Places to Work in Western PA list - as it was recently announced that ABG Capital was selected as a 2009 honoree.

This incentive is a monthly game that involves all levels and departments of employees, was initiated this year with the theme of "Dominating the Marketplace” to successfully complete all quarterly goals and reach all super goals while involving employees in the chance to play for prizes and incentives.

"In tandem with our mission to be an employee-centered organization, we initiated a game this year to incorporate fun into accomplishing our business goals.  Month after month, we are impressed with how quickly and effectively our goals are being met," says Ron Eggert, President of ABG Capital.

ABG Capital's internal incentive game is played the last Friday of every month.  The rules are set-up to increase the likelihood of each and every employee getting to play the game.

Yearly strategic and financial goals are set by the ABG Capital Executive Team.  Each quarter, the short-term quarterly goals and tasks are set to reach the yearly goals.  All goals align with ABG Capital's overall vision, and each portfolio company has their own set of goals & tasks.  In order to determine how many players are eligible to play in any given month, the goals are measurable – financially and quantitatively.

All prizes are on the board and include gift cards to various restaurant and entertainment venues in the Pittsburgh-area.

"When a game can create a mutually beneficial experience for both the company and the employees, it's something that will stay with our organization for a long time to come,' says Jeff Tapolci, CEO of ABG Capital.  "This game may be a significant part of the reason that we've earned 'one for the thumb' in the annual Best Places to Work in Western Pennsylvania list."

In related efforts to provide opportunities for employees and have a presence in the local industry, ABG Capital is 2009 Sponsor of the 3 Rivers Venture Fair, which is being held on September 15-16, 2009 at PNC Park.  The 3 Rivers Venture Fair is among the nation's most prominent and productive technology investment showcases.  For more information, visit www.3rvf.com.
